Donations
A family may have requested donations in lieu of flowers. This will be in support of a charity that meant a lot to the person who has died or the immediate family. There is no pressure to contribute. Your contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant impact and serve as a tribute to their life and legacy.
Donations can be made on the day of the funeral or up to 8 weeks after the funeral.
When sending a donation by post or delivering by hand, please include your name and address and the details of who the donation is in memory of. This will ensure you receive an acknowledgment, and the donation is allocated to the correct person.
If you are donating by cheque, please make the cheque payable to the Charity or to ‘Norman McBriar & Son’, or if paying cash, we advise to hand deliver to our office rather than sending cash by post.
100% of all donations submitted, are directed to the designated charity. Norman McBriar & Son Funeral Directors do not charge any fees for the administration of donations.
Once the donations are collected, normally after 8 weeks, they will be forwarded to the charity and a letter detailing the donations received sent to the family (if you would like your donation Gift Aided or to remain anonymous, please let us know).
For those in the UK, you can claim Gift Aid if you’re a taxpayer, this will boost your donation without any extra cost to you.
If any further information is required about donations, please contact us on 028 97519739.
